Muscle relaxants (eg Botox and Dysport) are substances which are excellent for smoothing facial creases such as frown lines or crows feet. A very dilute solution is injected with a very fine needle into those muscles which cause the wrinkles, temporarily inactivating them. One particular muscle relaxant has been used successfully and safely for around 20 years. The result is a relaxed looking face, which appears free of frown lines and wrinkles around the eyes.
The treatment works by inactivating the muscles, so lines no longer appear when you frown or smile. One treatment is required and the results last as long as six months in some patients.
It is important to note that the face will still be able to show expression, but with a great reduction in wrinkling!
